Imperial Ball Themes Magical Harmonies scheduled for May 11
Fundraising to Embrace Diversity and Support Youth Initiatives

Toronto, April 16, 2019 – Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto (CCC) will be hosting the annual signature fundraiser Imperial Ball 2019 featuring Magical Harmonies on Saturday, May 11 at the Fairmont Royal York (100 Front Street West, Toronto). Funds raised will be directed to enrich the cultural and educational programs for youth and the community at large. The fundraising goal is $500,000.

CCC Chairman Dr. Adrian Cheung remarked that “With a proud three decades of cultural legacy, we will embark on a number of youth and education initiatives to continue our mission and embrace diversity. Being a community-focused Home for the West to meet the East and the Past to meet the Future, we are fostering “a sense of belonging” so that people from all walks of life and ethnicities can share and enjoy the rich cultural diversity here.” As such, CCC has become a new venue for holding citizenship ceremonies for new Canadians.

CCC President Angela Chan promised an unforgettable gala themed “Magical Harmonies” through amazing performances that exemplify East meets West. World renowned erhu master George Gao will be performing together with musicians on violin, cello, guitar, bass and fiddle. Most excitingly, there will be a step dancer too. Guests will also experience lions dancing with ballerinas together.

Over 30 reputable business corporations and community organizations have pledged their support this year. Longtime supporters Rolex Canada Ltd. and Royal de Versailles Jewellers continue to be the Presenting Sponsors. In addition to a pearl and diamond pendant and earrings donated by Royal de Versailles Jewellers, the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in Toronto will also contribute a premium cultural gift for live auction. DFC Auto Group and RBC Royal Bank are again the Honorary Patrons while CIBC, Congee Queen and Ocean Packers Inc. are the Platinum Sponsors. Gold Sponsors are Balmoral Multicultural Marketing, Best Deal Graphics & Printing, L-Can Real Estate Group, Phoenix Financial Inc., Sunny Supermarket and TD Canada Trust (full list of major sponsors appended). Silent auction items include dinner coupons of various popular cuisines, gold pig ornaments, paintings, fashionable accessories and many more. There will also be raffle draws. Grand prize sponsored by Mandarin Holidays would be a pair of two round trip air tickets to any destination in Asia. Second prize is a 50” LCD TV and third prize an iPad.

Imperial Ball is expected to draw about five hundred patrons comprising business executives, professionals, community leaders and representatives from all levels of government.
